Does Revelation Make Left Handed Guitars?

Yes, they do! In fact, they have a solid lineup of 16 lefty electric guitars, and 3 left handed bass models too.

Who Are Revelation Guitars?

Back in the 90s, UK guitar designer Alan Entwistle teamed up with German company Hohner, to create Revelation Guitars. However, by the mid-’90s, Hohner decided to focus on their world renowned harmonicas and accordions, so Revelation was put on hold.

At this time Hohner sold off its UK premises to Sutherland Trading Co Ltd., who inherited the Revelation name.

Fast forward to 2010, and Sutherland Trading Co. decided it was time to bring Revelation back from the dead, aiming to fill a market gap for quality, affordable guitars.

When it came to finding the right guy for the job, Alan was a no-brainer, due to his encyclopedic guitar knowledge. Faced with budget constraints, the team prioritized investing in the instruments over flashy marketing, believing that if the guitars were good enough, musicians would do the talking.

Revelation Guitars has built up a solid reputation for providing affordable yet high-quality guitars and basses, targeting both amateur musicians and more experienced players. From jazz to rock to indie, Revelation has an instrument for almost every genre.

What Do I Think of Revelation Guitars?

Revelation is a bit of an underdog in the guitar market, but I think it’s a company that punches well above its weight.

They’ve got a nice blend of both vintage and modern design that’s unique to them. You’d be hard-pressed to find many other brands offering guitars with four single coils!

Revelation’s lefty guitars and basses take inspiration, from classic shapes, including Fender Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster, Jazz bass, and P-bass, as well as the Gibson ES guitars. However, they have managed to make them stand out from the crowd somewhat.

Their instruments boast excellent build quality and top-notch electronics, often at a fraction of the cost of bigger names.

Entwistle’s electronics and pickups can also be found in Vintage guitars.

Left Handed Revelation Acoustic Guitars

Revelation makes hybrid acoustic guitars, but unfortunately, there are no lefty models available at the time of writing.

Final Thoughts

Revelation Guitars are definitely worth checking out. They offer a range of styles mainly based on classic designs, and you won’t have to sell a kidney to afford one.

They’re ideal for both beginners looking for a decent first guitar and more experienced players wanting an instrument that’s not gonna break the bank. Revelation guitars have a reputation for excellent build quality for the price too.

It’s also great that they have some really interesting alternatives to the usual guitars out there. How about the RJT-60/4 with its four single coil pickups? And they’re one of the few companies to have 12-string guitars available to lefties as well.

It’s surprising though, that none of their SG or LP-style guitars are made in lefty versions, as they are very popular styles of guitar out there.

Still, there’s plenty of lefty choice on offer, and you could do worse than give them a go.

Unfortunately, outside of the UK and some parts of Europe, Revelation guitars can be a little difficult to get hold of. According to the Revelation website, The Guitar Boutique in Canada is the exclusive supplier of Revelation guitars to North America.
