Does Orangewood Make Left Handed Guitars?
Yes! At the time this article was written, Orangewood make two acoustic guitar models.
When it comes to acoustic guitars, companies like Gibson, Martin, and Taylor are leaders of the pack, along with brands like Faith, Takamine, and Ovation not far behind.
Companies such as Yamaha, Ibanez, and Washburn offer some good quality mid-range priced acoustics.
These guitars can still be pretty expensive for many players though, so some players will look to more budget-friendly options such as Harley Benton.
Orangewood’s lefty guitars fall into this affordable price bracket (though they do offer some more expensive, premium options that, at the time of writing aren’t available as lefty versions).

Who Are Orangewood Guitars?
Orangewood was founded by Korean-American brothers Eddie and Sooj Park, who describe their company as “a new generation guitar brand.”
It’s a relatively new brand, which was officially launched in 2018, in Orange, California. Their guitar and ukulele ranges are sold exclusively online, through the Orangewood website.
In 2019, Orangewood relocated to Los Angeles, CA. Their guitars are now designed in Los Angeles; the parts are all made in Asia and are later sent back to LA for construction, finish, and setup, before being shipped to the customer.
What Do I Think of Orangewood Guitars?
As a relatively new guitar company, Orangewood has only been around since 2018, so I haven’t had any experience with their guitars so far.
They are definitely a brand on the rise and seem to be building a solid reputation, garnering plenty of 5-star reviews. Many have commented on their high-quality build and great sounding tone.
I look forward to trying them out in the future!
As these guitars are only sold online, you will have to buy them in order to try them. Orangewood has a 30-day returns policy though, which also covers the cost of return shipping. It’s a pretty good returns policy, however, they do charge a $15 restocking fee, and you won’t be refunded any original shipping fees. So bear that in mind.
Pros and Cons of Buying an Orangewood Acoustic
Here’s a list of pros and cons when thinking about buying a left handed Orangewood acoustic guitar.
Pros:
- Orangewood’s online business model cuts out the middle man, offering greater value for money to the customer.
- Free shipping within the contiguous United States through FedEx Delivery.
- Easy 30-day returns policy.
- Good quality materials and workmanship.
- Set up well, good fit and finish, and plays nicely out of the box.
- Many reviews report that they’re easy to play and have great tuning stability.
- Many reports of being very nice sounding guitars.

Cons:
- Only two lefty models at the time of writing.
- Orangewood sells their guitars exclusively online, so you can’t try them before you buy.
- $15 restocking fee if you need to return any guitar.
- Doesn’t necessarily have the prestige of some other more expensive brands.
- Orangewood doesn’t offer international shipping. At present, they ship only to the USA and Canada. They’re looking to expand to other countries in the future though. They are sold at selected authorized dealers in India though.

- Topanga – An all-solid premium range, using the highest quality tonewood with a torrefied solid Sitka spruce top along with a solid pau ferro back & sides for a balanced, rich sound. - Highland – All-solid models that feature mahogany or torrefied spruce tops with mahogany back & sides. Featuring Grover open-gear tuners, ebony fingerboards, and an optional LR Baggs Anthem pickup.
- Melrose – These models feature solid Sitka spruce tops, layered pau ferro back & sides, and a UV cured gloss finish. They also come with an optional Flex Plus-T EQ pickup, gold hardware, and an abalone rosette.
- Overland – Solid top models with layered mahogany back & sides, and a natural satin finish. They also come with an optional Fishman EQ pickup.
- Playa – Layered spruce or mahogany tops with layered back & sides, and a natural satin finish. This collection offers several wood and body shape options, and represents Orangewoods most affordable line of guitars.
- Marina – Orangewood ukulele range features acacia or mahogany tops, natural satin finishes, and an optional studio-ready electronic pickup.

Final Thoughts
Just two guitars from Orangewood at the time of writing; both are pretty affordable options, making them great for students or beginners.
They both get fantastic reviews with many players singing the praises of the build quality and sound for such a reasonable price.
It’s a shame there aren’t any more left handed versions of other Orangewood guitars at the moment, but at least there’s something for left handed acoustic players to try out.
There are quite a few higher-specified Orangewood guitars available to right handed guitarists; it’d be cool if more of these were available in left handed options as well. We will have to wait and see…
