Last year, I had received an Amazon gift card but wasn’t really sure what I wanted to spend it on. As someone who enjoys playing guitar, I thought I’d get something guitar related. After a little consideration, I decided that I’d like to get a new guitar strap. Then, after much more consideration, I decided to get the KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap!

To me, the KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap looks so much more cool compared to the other straps available, with its thick neoprene padding; it looked like it would be so much more comfortable than other guitar straps.

As I own a few guitars, I already had a few guitar straps but only two or three, so depending on which guitar I wanted to play, I had to swap between each of the straps.
All the straps I owned up until that point didn’t feel particularly comfortable to wear, especially if I want to play a heavy, weighty guitar, such as my 2004 Epiphone Les Paul, which seems to have no weight relief whatsoever. It’s a bit of a beast! So as you can imagine, after playing for a while, my shoulder can start to ache a little.
This strap appears in the Lefty Guitarist Best Gifts For Guitar Players list. Check it out!

KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap Review
What’s So Great About the KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap?
Let me just say that when I first put this guitar strap on my guitar and tried it for the first time, I was amazed by how different it felt from any of my other guitar straps.
From the moment I took it out of the box, I could feel how good the quality is. Instead of single-layer strap ends, the KLIQ AirCell’s leather strap ends are double layered and stitched around the edges and around the strap end holes, which I think adds an added strength and grip to the strap buttons on your guitar.
All of my other straps have no stitching at all, so feel a little weaker than this one. The AirCell strap seems a lot sturdier and more secure. On attaching the strap to a guitar, it definitely feels more secure, and less likely to fall off. To be even more secure, you could also fit some Schaller Straplocks, but I don’t think it’s all that necessary as the strap ends are so thick and strong.
It felt so much more comfortable than any of my other straps; even a Gibson guitar strap, which I got when I bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio a few years back. That one though has straplocks fitted to it, so I can’t really use it on any of my other guitars, as I haven’t yet fitted the right strap buttons on them to use this strap with. I’ll have to invest in some for my other guitars I think!
Standard straps tend to be around 2 inches wide, which is fine and does the job of holding your guitar in place, but after a while, especially with a heavy guitar, they can really dig into your shoulder muscle causing you to ache. This isn’t great if you’re gonna be standing up to play for a long while.
The KLIQ AirCell strap is 3 inches wide, a whole inch wider than usual guitar straps. This helps spread the weight more evenly, adding to the comfort on the neck and shoulder. Less digging in means you can play in comfort for longer.
Another difference to standard straps is that the main part of the AirCell strap is made from thick neoprene material for extra cushioning. Not only that, it has KLIQ’s AirCell Technology, which basically means there are loads of little air-filled bubbles along the strap, giving you even more cushioning.
The neoprene itself is also a little stretchy. Not so much that your guitar is bouncing up and down as you play! It does however have a slight bounce, which adds an extra level of cushion yet again. These all add up to one of the most comfortable guitar straps around!
I’ve used this strap for a couple of hours at a time, with no ill effects. It has totally removed any digging into my shoulders and I now use it with almost all of my guitars.
On top of all this, the strap comes with a limited lifetime warranty, so if anything were to go wrong with it, you’d be covered.

If there is anything negative about the KLIQ AirCell strap, I guess you could say that the padded AirCell part of the strap can feel a little short. It’s not actually too short as it always sits nicely on my shoulder, but I can feel the end of the AirCell part of the strap against my back, making it seem short. This isn’t really much of a negative though.
A Strap is a Strap, Isn’t It?
Just like other straps, the KLIQ AirCell guitar strap is used in exactly the same way. Strap ends attach to the strap buttons on the guitar and there’s an adjustable end as well to make it longer or shorter.
So in many ways, this strap is no different from other guitar straps. The main difference with the KLIQ AirCell strap is the comfort factor. It’s on a whole other level!
It’s a little more expensive than other guitar straps made with synthetic materials. Obviously, leather or suede straps can cost two to three times the price of this, so the KLIQ AirCell guitar strap is a good middle ground.
About The KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap
- Patented AirCell Technology – Air-filled cells along the underside of the strap give great cushioning.
- 3″ Wide Shoulder Pad – Made of neoprene, the guitar or bass’s weight is evenly distributed across your shoulder and back, allows for comfortable playing for longer periods.
- Shock Absorbing Material – The neoprene stretches a small amount, reducing sudden jolts and vibrations.
- Fully Adjustable – The length of the standard AirCell guitar strap can be 46″ to 56″, fitting most people’s requirements. There are also Short (38″ – 44″) and Long (49″ – 61″) versions available too.
- Reduction in Neck Diving – The air cells act like a grip, reducing the amount of neck dive if your guitar is neck-heavy.
- Moisture Wicking – The special materials help wick away sweat to allow your shoulder to breathe.
- Designed to Last – Made with quality materials and backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
There doesn’t seem to be very much information regarding the Limited Lifetime Warranty on the KLIQ website, so I emailed KLIQ for more info… Basically, they said that the warranty covers you for any manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the strap. You would need to contact them in the event that something went wrong with it due to manufacturing defects.
Who Should Get a KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap?
Anyone who’s tired of having painful neck and shoulders after a long practice session should definitely consider buying one of these straps. They really do take away the pain of having a thinner strap cut into your shoulder.
I’d say it’s also a good idea to consider this strap even if you don’t get aches and pains from long playing sessions, as it really is a very comfortable strap.
What’s Good About the KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap?
- Air pockets for extra comfort.
- Stretchy neoprene for added cushioning.
- Greater width for better weight distribution.
- Air cells help take moisture away from your skin helping your shoulder to breathe while playing.
What’s Bad About the KLIQ AirCell Guitar Strap?
- At 1.5 inches, the adjustable end of the strap is actually narrower than a standard strap.
- The neoprene padded part of the strap feels a little short at times.
- The plastic buckle works fine but doesn’t scream top quality.
- Some might find the strap too wide.
Final Thoughts
As you probably can tell, I really like this guitar strap. To me, it’s the most comfortable guitar strap I’ve ever used and it really does help ease the pain of playing heavyweight guitars with a narrower strap.
The 3″ width, coupled with the slight stretchiness of the neoprene material, topped off with the patented AirCell bubbles makes this one of the most cushioned and shock absorbing guitar straps around. So comfortable!
So if you have ever had shoulder or neck pains due to playing with a heavyweight instrument, then this strap could really help to alleviate the problem. Otherwise, it’s just a really good quality strap that feels really nice to wear.
